    I don't believe racism is any worse in Australia than any other country, infact I do believe Australians are amongst the most accepting, e.g. see the recent news article of the unacceptable racial uproar in China because a african-chinese girl was on the equivalent to Chinese Idol. Unfortunately there is a small minority who hold racist views that are very vocal and receive a lot of press coverage (because it makes an intersting news story) that make it seem like these views are more widespread...
